We would like to introduce a case study on reducing lead time and costs by converting the manufacturing process from cutting to cold forging. Previously, one side of the spline and the outer shape were processed through cold forging, while the other spline was finished through cutting. By tightening the clearance of the mold, we were able to convert everything to cold forging, achieving a 25% reduction in processing costs and an 80% reduction in lead time.
