The "VM type" is a continuously variable transmission designed so that the belt operates in an ideal state at any gear position, with the pulleys engineered accordingly. Additionally, the belt uses a dedicated belt from Sansei-Tokyo Gear, which has a high coefficient of friction and excellent flexibility. These two factors result in an efficiency of 85-95%, and the lifespan of the belt is exceptionally long.
