A certain water purification plant and wastewater treatment plant have been in operation for over 20 years since their design, and in a few years, the electrical components used in the treatment plant will be discontinued. As a result, there has been a challenge to renovate the PLC using I/O technology to add functions and improve the monitoring/control system. As a solution, it was decided to introduce an industrial gateway because protocol conversion is necessary to connect PROFIBUS I/O, RTU, and Modbus TCP PLCs to the pumps.
