Since its establishment in 1806 in Kishiwada City, Osaka Prefecture, Shimen has continued to uphold traditional techniques and culture, dedicating itself solely to the production of Buddhist altars. We offer a wide variety of products, including traditional gold altars and wooden altars, as well as Wajima lacquer altars, furniture-style altars, and mini altars. In particular, the Wajima lacquer altar, which incorporates traditional Wajima lacquer techniques, is made using local powder (diatomaceous earth) from Wajima City as a unique lacquer base, and the finest quality lacquer is generously applied, resulting in a top-tier altar that undergoes 124 processes to complete. We also manufacture original high-end wooden altars and stylish modern altars that evoke the beauty of Japanese tradition. Additionally, Shimen offers repair and restoration services for Buddhist altars. From simple partial repairs to cleaning repairs that remove dirt, and complete repairs that restore the altar to like-new condition, we carefully handle repairs at our own factory.
