We offer a very rare green Wajima lacquer modern Buddhist altar called "Aoshitsu." Using natural lacquer that has been colored green by adding pigments such as indigo to yellow lacquer known as "Aoshitsu," it is crafted using traditional Wajima lacquer techniques. The base created using the "fabric-covered true hard ground" technique, which is characterized by the exceptional durability of Wajima lacquerware, the "tame-nuri" method of layering high-quality natural lacquer, the "wax finish" that involves hand-polishing the surface to achieve a mirror-like beauty, and the "togidashi maki-e" that is carefully painted with colored lacquer and gold or silver powder. This is a top-quality piece completed over the course of about one year.

It is a top-quality piece with a fabric-covered solid base and a natural lacquer wax finish. The lacquered surface, finished with a total lacquer technique, has beautifully translucent red corners. Additionally, the "camellia" design in the inlaid maki-e on the doors is elegant and luxurious, and it is designed so that the pattern connects whether the doors are closed or open. *Custom orders are available.
