MapStar TruAngle, like its predecessor the MapStar Angle Encoder (MSAE), accurately calculates the rotational horizontal angle to any reference point or direction. When combined with an LTI laser, it is capable of capturing X, Y, and Z coordinates for 3D mapping and surface modeling. The small, lightweight design, simpler user interface, and more cost-effective TruAngle angle encoder make it an attractive mapping accessory. By mounting the TruAngle angle encoder on a tripod, angle accuracy can be enhanced to +/- 0.05 degrees. It features a built-in leveling bubble to assist with precise leveling and is equipped with a friction lock mechanism to facilitate more accurate measurements. All

The angle value can be clearly confirmed day and night with easy-to-read numbers and a backlit LCD. Similar to leveling, TruAngle allows for easy setting of the initial angle value to zero for targeting a point or direction. All data collected thereafter references this initial setting direction and directly outputs 3D coordinates from the TruAngle angle encoder to the data collector. This system does not require a lot of time for extensive training, nor does it need a large upfront investment. It is an excellent alternative to total stations. Its modular design allows for standalone use, making it highly portable for measuring distances and heights. In urban environments, or when mapping near heavy machinery or buildings, the TruAngle angle encoder is the optimal tool as it is unaffected by local magnetic interference. There is no need to worry about compromising angle accuracy in these areas. You can easily and quickly measure the required angles at any time.
