[Case Study] "Flocking Narrow Wall" Adopted in Wooden Non-Residential Buildings in Urban Areas
Adopted in a commercial facility in the bustling area of Ginza 7-chome, one of Japan's leading shopping districts.
The "Flocking Narrow Wall," which realizes a large space in a small area, has been adopted in a commercial facility in the city center. The facility is "GINZASTEPS," located in one of Japan's most famous shopping districts, Ginza 7-chome, which houses four dining establishments. The floor plan features a spiral one-room format where small four-person counter stores skip and connect with each other! The site is a narrow plot of about 30m2 facing a narrow back alley, and due to various constraints from these conditions, a two-story wooden structure was adopted. To establish a spiral skip floor using traditional wooden construction methods, the Flocking Narrow Wall was utilized. ■GINZASTEPS Architectural Overview Use: Commercial facility (dining establishments) Location: Ginza 7, Chuo-ku, Tokyo Building area: 26.60m2 Total floor area: 53.20m2 Design: RG DESIGN (Photo credit: Keita Arai) For more details, please feel free to contact us.
