Q. I would like direct copper plating on aluminum die casting, but I was told that electroless nickel is necessary as a base. Is it not possible to do direct copper plating?
A. It is possible. The image shows direct copper plating on A5052 extruded material, but there is absolutely no problem with direct copper plating on aluminum die-cast ADC12 as well. Currently, when plating aluminum, it has become common to apply a base layer of nickel plating or electroless nickel plating, and then overlay the necessary plating layer on the nickel plating film. Our company is capable of directly copper plating or directly nickel plating aluminum die-cast and aluminum materials for stretching.
