The property of remaining deformed even after the force is applied and then removed! Introducing what "plasticity" is!
Metals possess both plasticity and elasticity. Elasticity is the property that allows a material to return to its original shape after being deformed by an applied force. For a familiar example, think of a rubber band. When you gently stretch a rubber band and then release it, it returns to its original shape. This ability to return is called "elasticity." However, if a certain amount of force is applied, once that force is removed, the material may not return to its original shape. This limit of returning is referred to as the "elastic limit." The property where deformation remains even after the force is removed is called "plasticity."
