The skin microbiome is gaining attention in fields such as skin diseases, cosmetic development, and anti-aging. This kit is designed for the collection and preservation of skin resident bacteria, allowing for easy sampling. Utilizing the specimen preservation techniques developed for gut microbiome analysis, it enables the maintenance of the microbiome even at room temperature. It can be used for microbiome analysis through amplicon sequencing. In this kit, skin resident bacteria are collected by rotating a cotton swab soaked in saline on the skin, and the swab is then immersed in a preservation solution to minimize changes in the microbiome. Unlike adhesive tape, it causes less damage to the stratum corneum during collection. If you send the kit with the collected samples to us, you can also utilize our contracted analysis for microbiome analysis (amplicon sequencing).
