This is an introduction to Kōei Techno System's "Powder Flame Spraying," which focuses on the repair, regeneration, extension of life, and maintenance of parts, aiming for high-quality parts, wear resistance, heat resistance, and corrosion prevention, similar to preventive medicine, through advanced research and development of machinery. In this process, powder-like spraying materials are introduced into an oxygen-acetylene (or hydrogen, propane) flame, where they are melted and simultaneously accelerated by the combustion gas flow, causing the molten powder to collide with the substrate and form a coating. Almost all metals, alloys, and cermets can be sprayed, but it is commonly used for self-fusing alloy spraying, abradable spraying such as nickel-graphite, or plastic spraying, which typically undergo post-spraying re-melting treatment.
