[Video Now Available] We can meet all your needs for electron beam (EB) irradiation.
From irradiation testing to equipment introduction! We meet all your needs related to electron beams with our electron beam irradiation services and a wide range of product lineup.
Electron Beam Irradiation is a technology that enhances the properties of materials or imparts new functions by irradiating them with electron beams. Electron beams are utilized in various products around us, such as improving the heat resistance of wire coatings, enhancing the quality of foamed sheets, reducing the weight and improving the quality of tires, imparting moisture-absorbing and heat-generating properties to clothing, and sterilizing medical instruments. Additionally, it is used in the production of high-functionality food packaging and improving the properties of semiconductors, contributing to the realization of SDGs through extending food shelf life and energy conservation. NHV Corporation has been developing and selling electron beam irradiation equipment for over 60 years, and as the only manufacturer capable of meeting a wide range of customer needs from low-energy to high-energy domains, we supply electron beam irradiation equipment to over 30 countries worldwide. Furthermore, our company offers electron beam irradiation services with six machines at three locations nationwide (Kyoto, Maebashi, and Tosu). From research and development to experimental irradiation and contract processing, we propose various effects achievable through electron beams based on our expertise for the materials you are considering.

basic information
Electron beams are utilized in the production of high-performance food packaging and the improvement of semiconductor properties, contributing to the realization of the SDGs through the extension of food shelf life and energy conservation. ■ Reduction of VOC emissions through EB curing of printing and coating films EB-curable resins and paints can be made VOC-free. Additionally, they cure instantly upon irradiation, which reduces CO2 emissions during the drying process compared to thermal drying methods. ■ Contribution to energy conservation through the improvement of power semiconductor properties By generating lattice defects with EB, it is possible to control semiconductor properties. These are used in switching devices such as air conditioners, contributing to energy savings. ■ Contribution to extending food preservation periods with high-performance food packaging materials Crosslinking technology using EB is also utilized in the production of food packaging films. It contributes to extending the shelf life of food with high-performance packaging materials. ■ Enhancement of plant-based plastics Plant-derived polylactic acid has faced challenges due to low heat resistance and transparency. However, modification through EB crosslinking has improved the heat resistance of polylactic acid while maintaining transparency, thereby expanding its applications as a substitute for petroleum-based plastics.
