Foreign objects (ceramics, stones) in the carrot will be automatically removed using vision tracking. Image processing is equipped with HALCON DL (deep learning)!
We are currently sorting out foreign objects (stones, ceramics) mixed in the cullet by human eyes and hands, but we will automate the removal using a combination of AI-equipped image processing, vision systems, and conveyor tracking functions with scalar robots. This will definitely lead to a reduction in labor shortages, fixed costs, and an improvement in the quality of the cullet. There are no identical shapes, colors, or sizes for the ceramics and stones mixed in the cullet, but the AI-equipped image processing can reliably distinguish between good products and foreign objects, allowing the robot to pick only the foreign objects. While human visual inspection alone reduces reliability, this automatic sorting machine can consistently remove foreign objects. There is no doubt that the quality of the cullet will improve!! *This technology can also be applied to the removal of foreign objects in food products, not just cullet!!

Applications/Examples of results
Purpose: We aim to eliminate manual sorting in cullet processing and achieve stable quality and cost reduction through implementation. It can also be applied to the removal of foreign substances in food, not just cullet!!
Detailed information
-
It is mixed in with the carrots, and the image shows ceramics. The ceramics vary in how they are broken, color, and size. We will identify these ceramics using AI (artificial intelligence) image processing and perform robot picking.
Company information
In the Vision & Robot System Development Department, we develop vision systems for robotic systems and robotic systems themselves. We are involved in the development of optical sorting machines for recycling companies, automotive parts manufacturers, and food manufacturers, as well as the development of appearance inspection systems for automotive parts manufacturers. Our areas of expertise include optical automatic sorting machines, high-speed image processing, AI (deep learning) image processing, appearance inspection of metal parts, and PLC control design. We also develop and design automatic sorting inspection equipment using robots from scratch. For customers considering factory equipment automation, we provide automatic sorting machines, control panel design for equipment, robot implementation, and vision system implementation. 1. We mainly use KEYENCE, HALCON, and HALCON DL for image processing. We also support other image processing solutions, including MERLIC. 2. For PLCs, we primarily use KEYENCE and Mitsubishi Electric products (we also handle other manufacturers' PLCs). 3. We use robots from DENSO WAVE, Mitsubishi Electric, FANUC, and Yamaha Motor. 4. For cameras, we use color/monochrome area cameras and line scan cameras, including Basler cameras, JAI UV cameras, JAI prism spectroscopic cameras, and KEYENCE cameras.
