We will correct the distortion caused by thermal expansion in the welding line in real time!
The distortion correction of the welding line due to thermal expansion is an essential function for robotic welding. WeldPath has eliminated this distortion, enabling welding along the correct welding line. When welding according to the teaching points, the torch is advanced to the first point as instructed, and a line laser is projected to a point a few centimeters ahead, capturing the cross-section (X, Y coordinates) relative to the welding direction (Z coordinate) with a camera to measure the coordinate values (optical cutting method). This allows for real-time correction of the point coordinate values. In the case of a V-groove, the center point PC is determined from P0 (the left bend point) and P1 (the right bend point). At this time, P0 and P1 can be determined from the shape of the groove's cross-section. The coordinate values are captured by the camera from the red light projected by the laser and calculated from the image. Note: Applying this method to teaching enables direct teaching. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

basic information
The "Welding Line Tracking System" can correct distortions caused by thermal expansion during welding and can adjust the welding point to the correct position in real time. Currently, in robotic welding, the welding torch is swung left and right to find the center point. With this method, there is no guarantee that the correct position can be determined if the groove shape changes. The "Welding Line Tracking System" measures the shape while determining the welding point, ensuring that the correct welding point is identified.
