RINGFEDER's Schpan ring, shrink disk, and Ecolock are mechanical fastening components that utilize wedges for frictional connection.
RINGFEDER's Fundamental Approach RINGFEDER manufactures buffers (coil springs) that are incorporated into the coupling parts of railway vehicles, in addition to fastening elements such as the Schupan ring, supplying them to EU countries and surrounding nations. RINGFEDER applies its know-how in the structure and materials of coil springs to Schupan rings and shrink discs, and as a pioneer in friction fastening elements, it focuses on "the application of high-elastic materials" and "stable supply," as well as "advice on the limit design of elements," "development of application technology," "trouble resolution," and "harmony between elements and counterpart components" in its technical services. The Schupan Ring is RINGFEDER's Original Product! Due to the remarkable nature of its basic design, many counterfeit products have emerged since the patent expired. However, the Schupan ring is an original friction fastening element developed by RINGFEDER in Germany under ISO9001 quality management, consistently manufactured from materials to heat treatment and finishing processes. It is highly regarded as the only product that benefits from high-quality technical support from the RINGFEDER technical department and has sales channels in major advanced countries.

basic information
Mechanism of the Shupan Ring It is a wedge-shaped friction fastening element that converts axial force into radial force, integrating the shaft and hub through friction. The roots of the Shupan Ring lie in the coil spring, which has been recognized in Europe for over a century as a means of cushioning strong shocks. The original type Shupan Ring has been completed through continuous improvements while maintaining the high material characteristics of the restoring force inherent in coil springs. Features of the Shupan Ring Since no key grooves or notches are machined into the shaft or hub, the effective cross-sectional area can be increased, leading to further reductions in processing costs. The hub can be fixed at any position in both the rotational direction and axial direction (when there is no stepped machining on the shaft). Installation and removal can be done relatively easily. If proper design calculations and installation/removal procedures are followed, it can be reused repeatedly without aging deterioration. It functions effectively against both forward and reverse rotation and shock loads, as long as it is within the transmissible torque.
