In 1994, when the Japanese home appliance industry began its overseas expansion, Asahi Kogyo established a factory in Malaysia at the request of the Malaysian government. The Malaysian factory has a vast area of 20,000 tsubo, which is ten times larger than the headquarters factory, and employs over 1,600 staff members. From the beginning, we assigned employees trained in our advanced technology, instilling "Japanese manufacturing" practices, and now we have an environment capable of manufacturing at a level equivalent to Japan. In 2012, we established a second factory in Malaysia. With the expansion of production capacity and the introduction of new equipment, we are responding to requests from customers around the world.
