Using solar panels and a portable power source to create a UPS power supply for regular use with a home computer, contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
Using a voltage and current sensor along with a Raspberry Pi, we monitor the battery voltage of a portable power source and send a shutdown signal to the computer in advance if it drops, ensuring a safe stop. Battery voltage and current data are continuously sent to AWS IoT and displayed in real-time on a graph. By reducing peak power during the day and charging with solar panels, we can decrease CO2 emissions. According to our company's estimates, we can reduce CO2 emissions in households by 3% (80 kg CO2) and save on electricity costs: 4,550 yen/year.

basic information
The government has declared that it will achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, with the renewable energy ratio being 18% of the greenhouse gas emissions (1.2 billion tons) in 2019. The goal is to raise the renewable energy ratio to 38% by 2030. To reduce the CO2 emissions from computers used in households and other settings, we will utilize portable power sources (500Wh) and solar panels (120W) to create an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and provide a development kit that can be used for computers.
