This device is equipped with 80 LED-integrated illuminated push-button switches, displaying contact input with LEDs and outputting contact signals through the switches. It can be used simultaneously with up to four units. The current development incorporates a control board into the conventional device, allowing it to connect to a PC via USB serial. A PIC microcontroller is used for control, and the number of I/O ports is expanded with an I/O expander IC to secure the necessary inputs and outputs. The software for the PC is developed in Visual Basic, recreating the LEDs and switches on the screen to allow operation just like the main unit. Furthermore, the switches on the main unit are retained, enabling both PC operation and traditional main unit operation. Multiple LED displays can be connected to a single PC using a USB hub, and multiple instances of the PC software can be launched and used simultaneously. Regarding the distance between the PC and the main unit, it can be used beyond the standard 5 meters of USB cable by using a repeater cable. The display of signal names (contact names) on the screen can be changed via a CSV format configuration file.
