【Other Features】 ■Collision Mitigation If a load is detected during return or while the jog button is in operation, the crosshead will stop, preventing damage to the device or the test specimen. ■Automatic Positioning Function It saves the positions of the fixture spacing used for each test method. This allows all operators to perform tests in exactly the same manner. ■Load Cell Overload Prevention The 6800 series automatically stops when the load cell reaches its maximum capacity, preventing damage to the load cell, system, and fixtures. ■Test Specimen Protection The 6800 series automatically stops when the load cell reaches its maximum capacity, preventing damage to the load cell, system, and fixtures. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Applications/Examples of results
Materials such as plastics, metals, elastomers, and packaging products, as well as major applications, are widely used in the biomedical, automotive, electronics, and materials industries. The 6800 series universal testing machine can perform tensile, compression, bending, peeling, puncture, friction, and shear tests, and is compatible with a variety of grips and fixtures listed in the Instron accessory catalog. We also offer fixtures that conform to the most commonly used standards such as ASTM and ISO.
Detailed information
-
There are a wide range of options available, including tests at controlled temperatures using a constant temperature bath and a non-contact extensometer (AVE2).
-
Bluehill Universal software is integrated with the PC and the operation screen, allowing you to mount it directly on the testing machine and adjust it to your preferred height for work. It is ergonomically designed to be easy on the body, and its user-friendly interface enables intuitive operation regardless of the user's level of testing experience.
-
The automatic positioning function can save the system configuration so that it can be used repeatedly with the same settings, allowing tests to be started immediately with the same configuration. Even operators on different shifts can perform each test in the same manner.
-
We will build a simple cycle test that includes ramp waves, hold, and triangular waves. By using conditional logic, we can create test patterns to replicate real scenarios in the test.
-
The automatic testing system that can be built on the 6800 series system leads to improved safety, reduced variation, and savings in work time, thereby enhancing testing capacity and productivity. From XY stages to 6-axis robots, the automatic testing system can be configured for various applications.
-
The 6800 series handsets can be directly attached to the testing machine, and the ergonomic design has made the testing operations even more comfortable. Operators can use the handset either mounted on the stand or detached from it.
-
The Torsion Add On 3.0 feature can be easily attached to new testing machines or existing 6800 series single columns or 6800 series dual columns to enable biaxial testing of components such as bone screws, lure locks, and electric knobs.
-
Application example: Syringe compression test
-
The load cell of the 2580 series, specially designed for the 6800 series, provides excellent performance by measuring loads up to 1/1000 of its capacity with an accuracy of ±0.5% of the reading. The load cells designed and manufactured by Instron can withstand loads up to 300% of their capacity without mechanical failure, and up to 150% of their capacity without damage. Additionally, it features automatic transducer recognition and electrical calibration, making it user-friendly.

Company information
Instron was founded in 1946 by Harold Hindman and George Bahl, who were conducting joint research at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) at the time. They developed the world's first electromechanical (screw-type) universal testing machine. The name "Instron" is derived from "instrument" and "electronics." Instron's product range offers diversity that can cater to almost all global markets and industries, and since its establishment, over 70 years of testing technology and manufacturing experience have been built, with more than 50,000 systems operating worldwide. In 1965, Instron Japan was established to support customers in Japan. Currently, it has major bases in the United States, Europe, and Asia, providing sales and services in 40 languages through agents in 160 countries around the world.
