basic information
- Staphylococcus Analysis (※Additional to 16S rRNA gene analysis) The Staphylococcus genus is classified into coagulase-negative staphylococci and Staphylococcus aureus. Coagulase-negative staphylococci have a barrier function that helps maintain the skin in a weakly acidic state and are important species for skin condition maintenance, while Staphylococcus aureus is known to prefer a weakly alkaline environment, produce toxins, and worsen skin conditions. This analysis is highly recommended as it serves as an important indicator for understanding skin condition. - Bacterial DNA Copy Number Analysis (※Additional to 16S rRNA gene analysis) Using the DNA extract utilized in the 16S rRNA gene analysis, we analyze the amount (copy number) of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene present in the sample. By leveraging the characteristics of our proprietary sealable bacterial flora collection kit, it is possible to monitor fluctuations in bacterial counts. By examining the copy number, it is also possible to assess the skin condition to some extent. - Various Statistical Analyses Diversity Analysis (α diversity analysis, β diversity analysis) Multivariate Analysis (Principal Component Analysis, Regression Analysis, Multidimensional Scaling (MDS), etc.) Other analyses, including significance testing and inter-group comparisons. - Clustering Analysis Visualizes the similarity between samples.

Company information
Our company offers contract analysis services for the skin microbiome. By using our unique microbial sampling kit, MySkin Kit, it is easy to collect microbial communities. We can also measure the amount of bacterial DNA (copy number) contained in the samples, starting with metagenomic analysis. We aim to leverage the insights gained from a large-scale analysis of the facial microbiome of 1,100 Japanese women to more accurately understand the constantly changing state of skin microorganisms influenced by factors such as season, region, and age, and to utilize that data for the development of products tailored to individuals. We encourage customers considering product evaluation or research and development to make use of our services.
