It applies water pressure, which changes with the water level, to the quartz oscillator, and obtains the water level from the oscillation frequency that varies accordingly, enabling high-precision measurements. Additionally, it eliminates conversion errors due to aging changes in diaphragms and other components commonly found in traditional pressure-type water level gauges.
