Creating a windless environment with constant high temperature and humidity (over 98%) in the storage area using a groundbreaking method, remarkably extending the freshness of vegetables, fruits, and flowers, and contributing to the reduction of food waste.
To store freshly harvested items for a long time in a refrigerator or similar environment, it is necessary to create the same conditions as when they were cultivated. Using the cooling method of blowing cold air, as has been done until now, causes the cooled items to dry out as they cool, accelerating deterioration and leading to waste. Therefore, the "constant temperature and humidity container" has pipes running along the walls inside the container, with a coolant (brine) circulated through these pipes, cooling the entire wall surface. This allows for cooling the stored items inside the container in a still environment, preventing drying by cooling without breaking the moisture barrier surrounding vegetables, fruits, and flowers. Additionally, since the entire wall surface acts as a cooling body, it minimizes temperature variations inside the container. Moreover, a special micro-mist humidifying device maintains humidity levels above 98%. However, there are no water droplets adhering to the surfaces of vegetables and fruits, nor is there any moisture in the cardboard, which is common in high-humidity environments. In this way, by maintaining the freshness and quality of freshly harvested items for an extended period and reducing waste due to deterioration, we significantly contribute to the SDGs. The shipping containers used for "constant temperature and humidity containers" are designed for harsh environments at sea, making them highly durable. The walls and ceiling inside the container are made entirely of stainless steel, while the floor is made of aluminum, with an insulation thickness of 80 millimeters, allowing for a prolonged refrigerated state. The exterior is made of sturdy 3.2-millimeter thick steel. A roller conveyor will be installed on the floor, enabling pallet-sized loading and unloading. Additionally, by adding a sliding door on the side, manual loading and unloading as well as first-in, first-out operations become easier. Since it is a container, it can be easily installed and moved like a prefabricated warehouse, and it can be set up outdoors.
