A mode for conducting social behavior tests based on social defeat stress widely used overseas.
The SDS (Social Defeat Stress) mode is a newly introduced mode in the behavior analysis device SCANET. It is a device used for social behavior testing based on social defeat stress, which is widely used overseas as a model experiment for depression. In the social defeat stress test, mice are cohabited in a cage with larger mice, which induces depression-related behaviors such as social avoidance (withdrawal) and anhedonia. The behavior of the mice is measured after they are subjected to stress from the larger mice. 【System Configuration】 ■ SCANET MV-40 (with SDS mode) ■ Software (with dedicated notebook PC) ■ Cage (assembly-type cage, SDS-specific cage) *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

basic information
【Image of the Experiment】 ■STEP 1: Stress the target mouse in a breeding cage - Place an aggressive and larger mouse in the same cage as the target mouse - Then, separate them with a transparent partition so they cannot make contact - Repeat this process for several days ■STEP 2: Analyze the behavior of the target mouse using SCANET - Set up an assembly cage in SCANET - Place the target mouse inside and start measuring - Next, install a dedicated enclosure with the aggressive mouse from STEP 1 - Measure the time spent by the target mouse in the interaction zone and corner zone - Compare the data before and after the installation of the dedicated enclosure *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

At the end of 2000, our company took over experimental equipment such as SCANET and LOCOMO from the Medical Device Division of Fine Nex (formerly Toyo Sangyo Co., Ltd.) and became independent and established. In addition to motion measurement devices like SCANET, which has a track record of 30 years since its release, we develop and manufacture unique animal experimental equipment, including feeding amount measurement devices with feeding restriction functions.
