By utilizing optical fiber, the transmission distance can be extended up to a maximum of 2 km. What is DMX? It is a communication protocol used for lighting control, such as controlling moving lights. Officially called DMX512-A, it can transmit and receive up to 512 channels of digital signals. The controller and devices are connected in a daisy chain, but since it is a one-way communication, devices other than the controller do not emit control signals.
