Achieving long flight times (1.7 times) while maintaining high output for drone takeoff!
Our company has developed secondary batteries for infrastructure inspection drones that are safe and capable of long flight times. By equipping a small drone with the high-energy battery we created and measuring the flight time for each battery, we demonstrated that while conventional batteries provided a flight time of 9 minutes and 13 seconds, our "high-energy battery for drones" extended the flight time to 15 minutes and 50 seconds, achieving an approximately 1.7 times increase. Our company is a startup venture born from the National Research and Development Agency, Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), and the University-led New Industry Creation Program (START). We are scheduled to develop secondary batteries for safe and long-duration flight infrastructure inspection drones from October 2020 to September 2021. We aim to develop a new type of battery that incorporates a novel and unique concept of multi-electron reactions based on lithium-ion battery technology, striving for the realization of a sustainable and prosperous society.
