It is possible to calculate and simulate the displacement of transformers during earthquakes based on the building's response characteristics. In past earthquakes (such as those in Eastern Japan and Kumamoto), the heaviest transformers in substations were damaged, leading to many cases where electricity could not be extracted even if emergency generators were intact. Transformers are not readily available, meaning that operations would be halted during that time. The TTR not only protects the transformer but also enhances the overall rigidity of the substation, contributing to the protection of various relays and LCBs.
