It is a time-saving tool that smoothly moves the workpiece on a three-dimensional measuring machine or granite surface plate and securely fixes it, thereby increasing productivity. It reduces the setup time for workpiece fixation!
We are pleased to announce the launch of the "Time-saving Jig" Air-fix22B1, jointly developed by Sasaki Koki Co., Ltd. and Mitutoyo Corporation, under a patent license from Mitutoyo Corporation (Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture). Furthermore, a joint patent application has been filed by both companies. [Patent No. 4616563] [Application No. 2022-042420] This product significantly reduces the setup time for workpiece fixation, especially benefiting single-item and small-lot production! It enables adhesion to granite and ceramic plates, which is impossible with magnetic jigs (regardless of the material of the plate). Even during adhesion, it can be easily moved and detached by simply pressing the exhaust port with your finger. No vacuum pump is required; it achieves easy adhesion using compressed air from a compressor, which is commonly found in factories, to create a vacuum through a small vacuum generation device (ejector), providing powerful adhesion. Fixation and adhesion can be performed freely, and by pressing the exhaust port with your finger, it can be easily adhered or released. If you place your existing magnetic stand on the Air-fix 22B1, it can be used immediately on surfaces such as granite and ceramic plates.

basic information
What is Air-fix? It is a vacuum suction-type fixing jig that allows you to securely hold a workpiece at any position when using Mitutoyo's Eco-fix on a three-dimensional measuring machine or granite surface plate. It adheres strongly to the surface plate simply by supplying compressed air. Applications As a replacement for the base plate of Eco-fix Using the spring clip of Eco-fix for workpiece holding For holding large workpieces that extend beyond the base plate of Eco-fix For positioning and abutting workpieces On a dial gauge stand As a base for a magnetic stand Specifications Size: 21 mm × 58 mm × 91 mm, Weight: 630 g Air consumption flow rate: 8 L/min (under standard conditions) Suction holding: 200 N (20.4 kgf) (in the vertical direction) 65 N (6.6 kgf) (at the tip of the spring plate) Noise level (operating sound): 50 dB, the operating sound is around 50 dB, similar to a quiet office *Three-way manifold, six-way manifold, and piping sets are available as optional items. Please contact us for details. *An air supply equivalent to 0.4 MPa is required.

Applications/Examples of results
Usage (Workpiece fixing jigs for measurements on three-dimensional measuring machines or granite plates) Instead of the Eco-fix base plate Using the Eco-fix spring clip for workpiece holding For holding large workpieces that extend beyond the Eco-fix base plate For workpiece positioning and abutment On the stand of a dial gauge On the base of a magnetic stand *Eco-fix is a clamping tool from Mitutoyo Corporation. It is a clamping system that allows for easy fixation of various measurement objects by combining elements like building blocks.
Detailed information
-
Easily accommodates large and long workpieces that extend beyond the base plate of the Eco-fix.
-
Curved workpieces can also be securely fixed without any issues.
-
The basic setup involves using three Air-fix units together. With three points of fixation, the workpiece is very stable.
-
The Air-fix 22B1 is made of SUS420J2 material, so it can attract magnets. If you place a magnet stand that normally cannot be used on a granite surface onto the Air-fix, the magnet stand can be used directly on the granite surface.
