[Case] Polarizer Cutting Blade <Successful Development of High-Durability Blade>

We would like to introduce a case study of a major polarizing film manufacturing factory that implemented the "polarizing film cutting blade" from Kai Corporation. We developed a blade for cutting polarizing films used in LCD TVs and smartphones. Since polarizing films are made of very hard materials, we conducted extensive research on what angle to set the blade tip. Additionally, because fine chipping can lead to product defects, high process management was also required. As a result, we successfully developed a highly durable blade that does not compromise the high picture quality of LCDs. The durability far exceeded our customer's expectations, leading to significant cost reductions.
