We propose a way to process standard part shapes at a lower cost without compromising functionality, which has also spread to other machines and has been newly adopted.

We would like to introduce a case study on the design and manufacturing of the "Food Packaging Machine (Interior)" developed by Achi Seiki Co., Ltd. This product is a packaging machine designed for the individual packaging of food products. Upon receiving a request from a customer, we handle everything from part processing to assembly, electrical work, adjustments, and program installation before shipping. When processing and assembling, it was crucial for each unit to align properly; however, the reference points were ambiguous, making assembly and maintenance difficult for operators who were not well-versed in the equipment. To address this, we added reference knock pins to each unit and established an assembly sequence, which allowed us to reduce assembly man-hours and improve reproducibility during maintenance.
