Osaka Fuji Industries is engaged in the construction of power generation systems (boilers) in the paper manufacturing industry. Here, we introduce a case study of the "Protector" for boiler equipment. There were issues with damage to furnace walls caused by high-pressure steam injection from solid fuels and wall blowers, as well as high costs and long construction periods associated with pipe removal, thermal spraying, and buildup work during furnace wall damage. To address this, we implemented special alloy thermal spraying combined with FUSE or CrC-based cermet (high-velocity flame spraying). The thermal spray coating is dense due to re-melting treatment and is suitable for corrosive environments.
