The casting molds used for manufacturing vehicle engine parts need to connect a cooling hose and a hose for discharging the warm water used for cooling. The casting molds are equipped with fittings, and the piping work for the hose fittings is regularly performed by workers. During the hose and fitting connection work, visual inspections were conducted to check if the piping was correct; however, damages occurred due to mis-piping caused by human error. Three features of the "Color Bit Matching App" 1. Stick color bit seals to the hoses and fittings. You can verify whether the piping is correctly installed by visualizing it through a smartphone app. 2. It can read multiple sets of hoses and fittings at once, resulting in higher work efficiency compared to processing one set at a time. It can still read even if the seal has minor scratches (see Figure 2) or if it is used in curved sections. 3. It has a function to save logs of the connection confirmation work as images, along with the work time and the information of the person in charge, which can be sent externally. This allows for accurate records of when, who, and where the connection confirmation work was performed.
