Fully synthetic (Chemically Defined) medium for the production of exosomes from human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs)!
MSH-EV medium is a fully synthetic medium for the production of exosomes from human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). It has minimal contamination with microparticles, making exosome purification easier. It can support both expansion culture and exosome production in the same medium.

basic information
MSH-EV medium is a fully synthetic (Chemically Defined) medium for the production of exosomes from human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Due to the low contamination of microparticles*, it can minimize the introduction of particles from the medium during exosome purification by ultracentrifugation or ultrafiltration. (*Below the detection limit according to Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (model: NanoSight)) It is possible to support the entire process from expansion culture to exosome production using the same medium, eliminating the need to switch media during the process.

Applications/Examples of results
- MSH-EV medium demonstrated a proliferation support capability for human adipose tissue-derived MSCs (hAd-MSC) that is equal to or greater than that of αMEM medium supplemented with 20% FBS. - hAd-MSCs cultured in MSH-EV for approximately one month maintained their differentiation potential into adipocytes, osteoblasts, and chondrocytes. - Exosomes obtained from the culture supernatant of hAd-MSCs expanded in MSH-EV were comparable to those cultured in αMEM + 20% FBS. - MSH-EV yielded a greater number of exosomes than αMEM and other commercial exosome recovery media (measured for phosphatidylserine and CD63-positive exosomes by ELISA).
Detailed information
-
The MSH-EV medium demonstrated a proliferation support capability for human adipose tissue-derived MSCs (hAd-MSCs) that is equivalent to or greater than that of αMEM medium supplemented with 20% FBS.
-
hAd-MSC cultured for about one month in MSH-EV medium maintained its ability to differentiate into adipocytes, osteoblasts, and chondrocytes.
-
In the MSH-EV medium, more exosomes were obtained compared to other companies' exosome recovery media (measured for phosphatidylserine and CD63 positive exosomes by ELISA).
