[Case Study] Osaka University CMC: Optimization of Cold Air Distribution using TileFlow
The new supercomputer SX-ACE is operated with high efficiency. A new computing building that consolidates various servers, including ODINS, has been completed.
We will introduce a case study on the optimization of cold air distribution using TileFlow. Osaka University Cybermedia Center provides large-scale computing systems, housing services, campus cloud, and more as a service. To improve the efficiency of the air conditioning system, we have advanced the optimization of cold air distribution using this product. The key to building and operating a high-efficiency data center is to ensure that each server rack receives an adequate amount of cooling airflow. By using this product, we can quickly construct thermal analysis simulation models for the equipment installed in the data center. TileFlow Japan Co., Ltd. was established in April 2011 as part of Innovative Research, Inc.'s Asia-Pacific strategy and has been preparing its structure. It officially began full-scale operations on April 1, 2012 (with TileFlow technical support services implemented earlier). We aim to visualize energy-saving and thermal management technologies through TileFlow, expanding from current management systems for energy management, environmental management, asset management, cable connection management, and power management to future facility planning. By using TileFlow as a core technology and focusing on the iFacility Data Center, we will advance technical support for energy-saving and thermal management in data centers through integrated facility technology (software + hardware). Our goal is to establish and promote a next-generation integrated system for energy-saving and thermal management in data centers.
