The X-shaped scissor structure, in which two members are connected via a central rotating hinge, is a representative expandable structure. This structure has the characteristic of being extendable, allowing it to be folded small when not in use and expanded large when in use. Additionally, by connecting them, it is possible to elongate the structure; however, simple multi-stage designs can lead to increased weight, resulting in reduced transport capacity and increased construction costs due to the need for additional reinforcement processing. In this technology, we focus on the upper and lower chord members and diagonal members, similar to a truss structure, to construct panel units of the scissor structure, enhancing strength and achieving longer spans while also improving constructability.
