Successful in reducing maintenance costs and machine downtime! A case that made a significant contribution to improving the environment within the factory.
We would like to introduce a case study of the introduction of "MECO Shaft Seals" at W.R. Grace & Co. in Tennessee, USA. The company faced environmental issues and had to replace the gland packing every month, requiring two workers to spend one shift of 8 hours to replace four seals. Therefore, we introduced the "MECO Shaft Seals" that we handle. As a result, by replacing the four gland packings with our product, the environmental issues were resolved, and we also succeeded in reducing maintenance costs and machine downtime. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

The MECO seal is a shaft sealing device newly developed by Wuddex Bearing Company in Maine, USA, for low-speed rotating equipment. It has a special structure similar to a dry mechanical seal and is custom-made with a two-part design, making it very easy to retrofit and maintain in existing machinery. While it has high sealing performance, it also has a large tolerance for shaft runout, making it highly effective for retrofitting devices that use gland packing. Various models are available, including those designed to withstand high temperatures, those that enhance sanitary properties, and inexpensive off-the-shelf models suitable for simple devices, allowing us to provide original seals tailored to the customer's applications and specifications.
