Measure the heat generated by the fiber laser and utilize it for optimization to achieve higher power! This includes guiding student experiments and improving the safety of field workers.
At the University of Tokyo, we will introduce a case study utilizing the portable thermal imaging camera 'FLIR E54'. We use the thermal imaging camera to measure the heat generated in the gain fiber of a fiber laser, in order to prevent equipment damage and injuries to operators caused by exceeding the limit temperature and resulting explosions. It is helpful for guiding student experiments, improving the safety of operators in the field, and enhancing the performance of the equipment itself. Considering the risk of equipment damage when exceeding the heating limit, the cost-effectiveness of introducing the thermal imaging camera is high.
