Introduction to Sheet Metal Processing Technology: The Relationship Between the Precision and Strength of Enclosures
At Nihari Works, which specializes in sheet metal processing, particularly in box-type enclosures, efforts are being made to achieve dimensional accuracy and enclosure strength.
When designing large sheet metal enclosures, what are the important structural issues to consider? As we develop this together with our customers, we would like to introduce our efforts.

basic information
【Frame Structure and Sheet Metal Structure】 In large and heavy enclosures, there are generally two design and manufacturing approaches: one is to design and manufacture entirely with sheet metal, and the other is to use a frame made of square pipes, with tapped holes for screws to attach panels. The all-sheet metal structure allows for more flexible design, while the frame structure provides reassurance in terms of strength. 【Specification Consideration According to QCD Requirements】 We not only perform sheet metal design based on customer specifications but also often propose VE (Value Engineering) suggestions primarily from a cost perspective. We discuss with customers to determine the optimal structure that meets necessary functions, such as using a pipe structure for the strength-focused base and a sheet metal structure for the appearance and functionality of the main body.

"Sharing of elemental technologies and accumulation of new elements" In this process, past experiences are extremely useful. Particularly, cases of defects are the most important among them. It goes without saying that we should not repeat the same problems, but we also strive to make advanced proposals based on those experiences. We continuously explore the content of defects, investigate their causes, and seek measures to prevent recurrence, using information sharing as a resource to be able to assist future customers as well.
