The world's only 100% polyester manufacturing method.

Kurare Fastening has established a manufacturing method using 100% polyester without a back coating agent and has obtained a patent for it. This has opened a breakthrough in global standards. With this method, the polyurethane back coating traditionally required for hook-and-loop fasteners has been eliminated, successfully reducing CO2 emissions by lowering energy consumption during the process. (A significant amount of energy was needed for the heating process to promote the drying of the back coating agent and cross-linking reactions.) Now, all products of "Magic Tape" are produced using this method. As a result, for the first time in the hook-and-loop fastener industry, we have obtained the "Eco Leaf Environmental Label," actively promoting efforts to reduce environmental impact. Furthermore, in 2022, we launched a new recycled type. This uses polyester yarn derived from recycled PET resin made from used PET bottles as part of the raw materials, and since it is 100% polyester without a back coating, material recycling is possible. The hook-and-loop fastener "Magic Tape" balances performance and environmental considerations. Kurare Fastening will continue to promote "more human-friendly and more Earth-friendly manufacturing."
