The QC-337 is a Elmendorf-type tear strength testing machine that measures the strength at the beginning of tearing for materials such as paper, textiles, and PVC. After fixing the test specimen, a knife is used to make a cut in the specimen, and the specimen is torn using the energy from the swinging pendulum. The tear strength is calculated from the change in the position of the indicated pointer.
