When deadlines are tight, ensure continuous operation! Picking using vision from robots.
WALT Machine Inc. receives large orders with short lead times every year. By the time the training for new employees is completed, most of the order deliveries are finished, and the employees' contracts have also ended. The use of robotic vision for picking has long been considered, but the integration costs have been a significant barrier. By implementing Robotiq's camera and 2-Finger 140 Gripper on the Universal Robot UR10, the company has been able to operate continuously during tight deadlines. The camera detects the raw parts on the table, and the gripper picks them up. The parts are then placed into the CNC machine, where the robot presses the start button. Once that is completed, the robot retrieves the parts and repeats the same process.
