Smith Spark Gamma is a discharge cut wire with a core made of high-strength piano wire, coated with brass (an alloy of copper and zinc).
By using gamma brass with a high zinc ratio in the covering material, we achieve a higher discharge machining speed compared to conventional discharge cut wires, and its thinness makes it suitable for high-precision machining. Additionally, by introducing a new manufacturing process, we achieve excellent high strength and straightness.

Our product, Smith Spark Gamma, has superior characteristics in all these aspects compared to conventional products. We have been selling diameters of 0.05mm, 0.07mm, and 0.10mm since April 2014.
Applications/Examples of results
The newly launched diameters of 0.03mm and 0.04mm have been developed in response to the demand for achieving finer processing in the manufacturing of precision equipment parts. They are expected to be used in applications requiring even higher precision, such as ultra-precision molds and medical use.
