We will support the FMEA promotion activities of equipment manufacturers!
In the case of equipment FMEA, there are two meanings of FMEA. One is the FMEA for designing equipment (referred to as Design FMEA (DFMEA) in product design), and the other is the FMEA for equipment manufacturing (referred to as Process FMEA (PFMEA) in product manufacturing). The focus this time is on the latter, the FMEA in equipment manufacturing. The FMEA for equipment (FMEA for equipment manufacturing) requires a similar approach to the PFMEA for regular production products, as mentioned above. However, the criteria for evaluating impact, occurrence, and detection need to be set according to the actual conditions of each company. Additionally, to ensure that no failure modes are overlooked and to establish the settings, it should be conducted as a team effort. (In this case, the team refers to a cross-functional team, including the equipment design department, equipment manufacturing department, equipment inspection department, sales, etc.) Based on the above, supporting the FMEA for equipment and promoting its establishment will be the focus of consulting.

basic information
Similar to PFMEA, commenting on each STEP involves: 1. Process Extraction Process extraction refers to the part where the process name, process details, and work content are described, similar to when conducting PFMEA analysis for a product, including the order of processes and work content. 2. Failure Mode Setting The task of identifying potential operational failure modes for each extracted process is known as failure mode setting. 3. Impact Degree Evaluation The task of evaluating the degree of impact for the failure modes set for each process is called impact degree evaluation. 4. Occurrence Degree Evaluation The task of evaluating the degree of occurrence for the failure modes set for each process is known as occurrence degree evaluation. 5. Detection Degree Evaluation The task of evaluating the degree of detection for the failure modes set for each process is referred to as detection degree evaluation. 6. Importance Evaluation and Countermeasures The task of conducting importance evaluation based on the evaluation points for each failure mode set for each process is known as importance evaluation. Importance is expressed as a score obtained by multiplying the evaluation points of impact, occurrence, and detection for each process. The basis for implementing countermeasures for this importance evaluation score, using a 10-point scale, ranges from approximately 100 to 300 points.

In small and medium-sized enterprises, we can provide support based on the fundamental principle of identifying the optimal direction for activities, drawing on our experience and achievements in various equipment FMEA promotion activities.
Company information
For manufacturing companies, the preparation of tools for production (jigs, molds, manufacturing equipment), the construction of line configuration and layout, and the creation of PFMEA and QC process charts to maintain product quality are fundamental to manufacturing and hold an important position. In this business, we focus on consulting in production technology, directly linked to the production site, particularly targeting small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, and we aim to support the growth of these enterprises. We will adjust the consulting targets based on the confirmation of customer needs.
