Bending, expansion, and dimensional changes are minimal! Uniform effects can be achieved even with complex shapes and deep holes.
The "Kanak treatment" is our unique gas nitriding method developed in 1985 as a hardening treatment for non-magnetic stainless steel, which was considered difficult at the time. It is a diffusion treatment mainly composed of CrN and MoN, significantly improving issues associated with conventional nitriding, such as reduced toughness, dimensional changes, and surface roughness, thus enabling application across a wide range of fields. Based on this treatment, we will expand our processing lineup to meet the needs of many customers. 【Features】 ■ Low reduction in toughness with a diffusion layer-based hardened layer ■ Uniform effects can be achieved even on complex shapes and deep holes ■ Minimal change in surface roughness ■ Little warping, expansion, or dimensional changes ■ Reproducibility of treatment effects through repeated processing *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Kanak processing is a gas nitriding treatment using a unique method. The material is held in a heating atmosphere of around 500°C for several hours, allowing nitrogen to diffuse from the surface of the steel and react with metal elements to form a hardened layer. Unlike conventional nitriding treatments, there are very few brittle iron nitride compounds near the surface, and the high compressive residual stress along with a smooth hardness distribution are characteristics of Kanak processing.
