Case 2: Nickel plating "Solderable Nickel Plating" with soldering strength equivalent to tin plating ■ Client H in the electronic components sector We proposed "Solderable Nickel Plating," which consists of copper plating plus nickel plating for soldering, to a client company that is planning to reduce costs for a product designed for soldering, which originally used brass material with copper plating, nickel plating (for diffusion prevention), and tin plating. After prototyping and evaluation, we received positive feedback on the solder wetting test, leading to a specification change and successful cost reduction.
