Hybrid solar simulator for research and development.
Wacom Densou's "Hybrid Solar Simulator for Research and Development"
Hybrid Solar Simulator for Research and Development inheriting Wacom Densou's technology.
In February 2022, during the research initiative "Development of Solar Power Generation Knitted Base Fabric and Smart Interior for Solar Power Generation," we developed a solar simulator and measurement device for the Fukui Prefectural Industrial Technology Center, featuring an effective irradiation area of 1.5m × 1.0m and compliant with IEC60904/Class AAA. This device has a proven track record of delivery to many testing and research institutions, including AIST and JAXA, and is highly regarded for its performance. It is designed to evaluate the various characteristics of solar cell modules that inherit the "WACOM brand." By pulsing the light source, it enables simulated sunlight irradiation over a large area. The main PR point of this system is that it can be used for both spectral distributions: "AM1.5, which has the same spectral distribution as natural sunlight," and "AM0, which can be used in space development." Switching between AM1.5 and AM0 can be easily accomplished with a simple lever for filter switching and adjustment of lamp current. This system can evaluate modules with different characteristics over a large irradiation area with just one device, maintaining high-quality light while reducing cost and footprint.
