At this time, the fluorescent material excited by the ultraviolet light emits fluorescence as it attempts to return to its original stable state. This phenomenon shows that as the molecular weight of oxygen molecules within the fluorescent material increases, the fluorescence intensity decreases inversely. The change in fluorescence intensity is converted into an electrical signal to measure the oxygen concentration.
