The 250th branch, located in the Bishops Gate area of London, which was built 18 years ago, had issues with red rust deterioration in its air conditioning system. To address the red rust in the piping, a rust inhibitor was being used, but there were environmental concerns. On March 23, 2018, "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed in the air conditioning hot water piping. One year after installation, the bank conducted its own follow-up survey, which showed that the iron content was at a very low level of 0.03 mg/l, confirming that the rust prevention effect in the piping persisted after one year. Furthermore, it was demonstrated that by continuing to use this product in the future, red rust would be reduced to a stable black rust, protecting the piping and extending its lifespan to match that of the building.
