VideoRay, a global company specializing in ROVs (remotely operated vehicles), offers a product line that can be quickly customized to meet the demands of harsh underwater missions. The company's ROVs are modular in design, allowing for changes in system functionality. To customize the system configuration for deeper underwater operations, a power supply with high power density and high conversion efficiency was required. To achieve this, an excellent Power Delivery Network (PDN) was constructed by combining Vicor's high-efficiency, high-power density power modules. For longer wire lengths, 400V AC is rectified and supplied directly to the wire, while for shorter wire lengths, a high-voltage BCM is used.
