The handheld hardness tester is a compact and lightweight ultrasonic vibration measurement device that allows for easy hardness measurement. When a diamond indenter attached to a vibrating rod is pressed against the surface being measured with a constant load, softer materials will have a deeper indentation and stronger fixation force, resulting in a higher resonance frequency. Conversely, harder materials will have a shallower indentation and weaker fixation force, leading to a lower resonance frequency. The correlation between resonance frequency and hardness is established, allowing for hardness conversion.
