Technical Data: Sheet Metal Basics Course, Session 15 - Deburring and Finishing Processes
By mechanizing the labor-intensive deburring process, significant labor savings can be achieved.
In shearing and punching processes, "burrs" occur, and in laser processing, "dross" adheres to the back surface of the workpiece. "Burrs and dross" can cause injuries and, in the case of copiers that handle paper, can lead to paper jams and other malfunctions. As the responsibility for manufactured goods is being scrutinized more strictly, there is an increasing demand for products that require the removal of "burrs and dross." In this document, we introduce a variety of tools, starting with "deburring machines," as well as "files" and "dedicated deburring tools (scrapers)."
